When it comes to cakes, I stick mainly to classics! My most popular flavors are the Coconut Cream, German Chocolate (My Birthday Cake every year) and Pineapple Upside Down Cake (My Father's favorite). I'm not big on intricate decorations or fondant, but like to finish off a cake with touches like a nice border and a complimentary element like toasted coconut. If you don't see your favorite, just ask, I can more than likely make it.
My pies start with a classic southern crust. I learned how to make pie crust from my mother and form each pie crust by hand leaving a nice scalloped edge. I like a thicker bottom to support all the good filling inside. These crusts are the flakiest ever! Pecan, Dutch-Apple, and Strawberry- Rhubarb are just a few I make,
For me a truly great cookie is one that has a crispy edge and a soft center. That is the goal I have for every cookie I make. Favorites are chocolate chip, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, and a new one: Sunbutter!
With over 20 years of catering experience, pick-up desserts are one of my specialties. Mini bites packed with flavor are the best addition to any catered event. Parfaits, bars, mini cupcakes and cookies can add that special touch to any gathering.
Tea Breads are the perfect addition to any breakfast or brunch without adding something too sweet. Pear-Walnut and Banana Nut are my favorites. I'm in development of new flavors. What's your favorite?

I began baking at a young age, under the direction of my mother who was an excellent southern-style baker. Much of what I learned from her is the foundation of what has become a lifelong passion. I have worked in catering most of my adult life, but when the pandemic happened, I leaned on what I knew and started a home-based bakery. When deciding on a name, my brother suggested Uncle Cake and Pie, since his daughter had already nicknamed me "Uncle Birthday Cake." I tend to stick to the classics, sometimes adding a twist. I have recently began working on developing gluten-free, dairy and egg-free versions of the treats I love to bake.
